Pupil Premium & Catch Up Premium
The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools based on the number of students who have been in receipt of Free School Meals in the last six years or are Looked After.
This money is used to support these students and ensure that there are no barriers to their achievements at school.

Catch up Premium
For 2015-16, the school was awarded £3000 of catch up premium funding. Catch up premium is awarded to help support students who arrive at secondary school with below expected levels in English and/or Maths at Key Stage 2.
At Hutton the money is used to fund intervention strategies to help boost their confidence and improve their skills and attainment in core subjects. Staffing and resources for the following initiatives were funding using the catch up premium:
- Regular intervention sessions with specialist support staff in English and Maths for targeted students to help them develop vital skills (Key Stage 3).
- Year 7 nurture group for targeted students led by a specialist Teaching Assistant.
- Rainbow Reading – time and resources provided for eligible students who struggle with reading skills.
In 2016-17, we plan to use our allocation to continue these initiatives. We are also looking into the possibility of funding additional IT equipment which will be used in intervention sessions to help support these students.
