Alex Bernstein 10P Sporting Success

Alex Bernstein

Alex Bernstein was the proud recipient of the Alan Woods Salver on Saturday the 7th October, for the best Hammer Circle under 15 thrower for 2017. Alex is coached at Preston Harriers by Bob Welfare and Andy Jeans and has just completed a memorable season. In May he won the U15 Lancashire County Championships in both Hammer (new Lancashire record) and Discus. At the start of July, Alex was part of the successful Hutton team that made the ESAA English Schools' Cup Final and a week later he won a bronze medal in the individual ESAA English Schools' Championships at the Alexander stadium in Birmingham. In August Alex won the Northern Athletics U15 Championships with a seasons PB of 55.51m (182 feet 1 inch). In September Alex had the distinction of again winning Gold for Preston Harriers in both the Hammer and Discus at the UK Youth Development U13/U15 League National Final. Alex finished the season number two for Hammer in the UK.
