Cleaner (Grade 1 SCP 6)

We are looking to appoint a reliable and hardworking individual to join the team of cleaners at Hutton Church of England Grammar School.

The post holder will carry out a variety of general cleaning duties and training on use of any equipment will be provided. Previous experience is not essential but would be an advantage. The post holders will work during term time and on INSET days, plus three additional weeks in the summer holidays which will be arranged with the Site Manager.

The post holder will work for 10 hours a week between 3:30pm - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday. The rate of pay is £7.78 an hour.

Job Description

Site Supervisor (Grade 2)

Required from 1st September 2017

We are looking to appoint a reliable and hard-working Site Supervisor to assist with the operation and maintenance of our busy school site. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the cleaning of the school and will act as a key holder, locking the premises at the end of the day. Other duties will include basic DIY and maintenance and cleaning.

It is important that candidates have a flexible attitude to work as occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for school events. You should have good communication skills, the ability to carry out basic maintenance and DIY, an awareness of the importance of health and safety and safeguarding issues and a willingness to undertake training as required.

The post holder will work 16 hours a week during term time with an additional four weeks of work in the school holidays to cover annual leave of other members of the site team. This will be arranged according to the needs of the school. The hours of work each week are as follows:

Monday - Wednesday 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Thursday - Friday 2:30pm - 6:00pm

The rate of pay will be Grade 2 between scale points 7 and 9. The rate which the post holder will start on is dependent on their previous experience and will be between £7.83 and £7.97 an hour.

We would also like the post holder to undertake an additional cleaning job in the mornings, between 6:00am and 8:00am. This will be an additional 10 hours a week during term time, including INSET days and for three weeks in the summer holidays. Arrangements for this will be discussed at interview. This additional position will be paid at Grade 1 scale point 6 which is £7.78 an hour.
