Technology Technician

Grade 4 (SCP 13-17) - Required as soon as possible

We are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic candidate with experience and knowledge of workshop equipment and processes to take on the role of Technology Department Technician.

The post-holder will work with our Design and Technology team to support students' learning by:

- preparing and maintaining teaching areas (including food and resistant materials workshops)
- preparing and maintaining equipment
- providing technical assistance in lessons through working with pupils in the delivery / demonstration of practical learning activities

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of using a variety of workshop equipment. Previous experience in this role would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement.

The position will be paid at Grade 4 (SCP 13-17) and this is a term time only position. The post holder will work 32.5 hours a week: Monday Friday between 8:30am and 3:30pm with 30 minutes for lunch. The salary quoted will therefore be reduced to reflect the part time, part year nature of the role.

Job Description

Science Department Teaching Assistant (Level 2b)

Grade 5 (SCP 17-21) - Required from April 2018

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work with our successful Science Department to support a wide range of students. The role will involve delivering intervention and support to individuals and small groups of students at Key Stage 3 and 4; assisting teachers with planning and resources; supporting students with a wide range of SEND issues in the classroom and beyond; and playing an active role in the extra-curricular life of the department.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team with a range of staff and students of various ages, abilities and needs. A background or qualifications in science subjects would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement.

The post-holder will work 25 hours a week Monday - Friday during term time only. There will also be an additional 1.5 hours a week at TA 2a level as part of the role. The salary stated above will be reduced to reflect the part-time, part-year nature of the position. This is a permanent variable hours contract with a guaranteed minimum of 15 hours a week. The number of hours worked will be reviewed each year according to the needs of the school.

Job Description

Cleaner

Grade 1 (SCP 6) - Required from April 2018

We are looking to appoint a reliable and hardworking individual to join the team of cleaners at Hutton Church of England Grammar School.

The post holder will carry out a variety of general cleaning duties and training on use of any equipment will be provided. Previous experience is not essential but would be an advantage. The post holder will work during term time and on INSET days, plus an additional three weeks of work in the summer holidays which will be arranged with the Site Manager.

The post holder will work for 10 hours a week between 3:30pm - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday. The rate of pay is currently £7.78 an hour but this is expected to rise to £8.50 an hour in April 2018.
