Teacher of Science (MPS) 

Required from 1st January 2018 - fixed term until 31st August 2018 in the first instance

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic teacher of Science to join a highly successful and forward looking department. 

The department has a strong track record of success and we are looking for a teacher who can use their knowledge to inspire and encourage our students.

This is a fixed term contract until 31st August 2018 in the first instance but there is a possibility of a permanent position depending on curriculum structures from September 2018 onwards.

The successful candidate will teach at Key Stages 3 and 4 and candidates must be able to teach Biology and Chemistry to GCSE level, although a specialism in Biology would be preferred.

Science Department Teaching Assistant (Level 2b)

Required as soon as possible - 25 hours a week - term time only

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and hard-working Teaching Assistant to work with our successful Science Department to support a wide range of students. The role will involve delivering intervention and support to individuals and small groups of students at Key Stage 3 and 4; assisting teachers with planning and resources; supporting students with a wide range of SEND issues in the classroom and beyond; and playing an active role in the extra-curricular life of the department.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team with a range of staff and students of various ages, abilities and needs. Candidates will have a minimum of grade C in GCSE English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent). A background or qualifications in science subjects would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement.

The post-holder will work 25 hours a week Monday – Friday during term time only. There will also be an additional 1.5 hours a week at TA 2a level as part of the role. The salary stated above will be reduced to reflect the part-time, part-year nature of the position. This is a permanent variable hours contract with a guaranteed minimum of 15 hours a week. The number of hours worked will be reviewed each year according to the needs of the school.

Teaching Assistant (Level 2a)

We are looking to appoint a new colleague to join our SEND team. Teaching Assistants play a vital role in supporting the educational, personal and social development of students at the school and the successful candidate will work under the direction of the SENCO to support to a variety of in class and extra-curricular activities.

Candidates will have a minimum of grade C in GCSE English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent). Experience of working in a school environment and particularly in supporting ASC students would be an advantage. The post-holder will be required to provide regular support for students in PE lessons and should therefore have an interest in sport and a willingness and ability to participate in activities and demonstrations.

This is a permanent variable hours contract with a minimum of 15 hours a week. The hours for this academic year are 25 hours a week, Monday – Friday during term time only. The number of hours will be reviewed on an annual basis to reflect the support needs within school. The salary quoted above will be reduced to reflect the part time, part year nature of this role. The point at which the post-holder will be paid is dependent on their experience.
