Hutton's socks of many colours and a hair raising event!

Hutton's socks of many colours and a hair raising event!

Gabriel 2Gabrial

We have been thinking about poverty in our Worship times recently and with this in mind decided to raise money for the Caribbean Island of Dominica. This island was recently devastated by Hurricane Maria.
Many Dominican people are still without basic needs such as clean water, food, basic sanitation or electricity. Men, women and children like you and me are living 4-5 in a two man tent in some cases.
Last Thursday students were invited to come to school in sock colours of the Dominican flag and to make a donation to our appeal.
One student Gabriel Deady Alston in year 10 was so moved by the what we covered in collective worship that he offered to have his hair cut, if enough money was raised for him to do this! It was as you can see from the before and afte photos.
So far over £300 has been raised!!
If you would like to add to the total there is still time.
A huge thank you to all involved.
