Old Huttonian raising funds for Children with Cancer U.K

An article by Dr Brendon Smith.

I will be cycling the Ridelondon-Surrey 100 sportive on the 2nd August 20L5,

I will be raising money for Children with Cancer UK, a charity which is particularly
close to my heart and which is the leading national children's charity dedicated to fight against all childhood cancers.
I was a GP in Timperley, Cheshire for over 27 years and during that time, I cared
for several children with cancer. The way the children fought their cancer along
with the support of their family and friends, was a very humbling experience
indeed. Cancer can affect any age but to be diagnosed at such a young age has a
devastating effect not only on the child, but on their family and friends. Raising
money for Children with Cancer UK will help to fund research, aimed at finding
cures and improving life expectancy.
On a personal note, I started road cycling last year and it is a great way of
keeping fit, losing weight and enjoying the countryside. Cycling provides
excellent aerobic exercise and provides non-weight bearing exercise for the hips
and knees.
Any donation to support Children with Cancer UK would be greatly appreciated
and this can be done by clicking the link
