Hutton C of E Grammar School continues to uphold a strong record of academic success, as this year’s GCSE results demonstrate outstanding achievement and progress across the cohort.
Hutton C of E Grammar School were proud to celebrate another year of excellent GCSE success, with results comfortably surpassing both regional and national averages. These impressive outcomes are particularly significant as a boys’ school, where progress measures are often lower nationally. Our pupils have demonstrated remarkable commitment to their studies, supported by the dedication of our teaching staff. These outcomes confirm Hutton’s position as one of Lancashire’s strongest schools for boys’ achievement and progress.
We are not able to calculate Progress 8 scores for academic years 2024/25 and 2025/26. This is because there is no KS2 assessment data available to calculate the baseline for Progress 8 for these years due to Covid-19 disruption.

A Level Results
Hutton Grammar School Sixth Form students once again celebrated an excellent set of A-level results, further strengthening the school’s long-established reputation for academic excellence and high achievement.
This year’s outcomes reflect both strong attainment and impressive progress across the cohort. Students achieved an average grade of C+, with 71% securing grades A–C*, 46.2% achieving A–B*, and an impressive 23.5% achieving the very top A–A* grades. These results place Hutton Sixth Form firmly among schools that consistently deliver high-quality academic outcomes.
Hutton’s strong results—supported by a Value Added score of -0.11, which reflects the school’s continued commitment to supporting students of all abilities—highlight the strength of its tailored and student-centred approach. The Sixth Form continues to flourish by maintaining small class sizes and nurturing a close-knit, supportive community. This enables staff to provide a genuinely holistic educational experience, helping every student to thrive.
