As a Church of England Voluntary Aided school, the majority of the governing body is made up of foundation governors appointed through the local parishes and the Diocese of Blackburn. The remaining governors are elected representatives of the staff and parents of the school. There are also representatives from Lancashire Education Authority and the Old Huttonian Association.
