Extracurricular
Sport
Hutton has a proud tradition of sporting success, and that continues in Sixth Form. Our senior rugby team competes against local schools throughout the year and regularly beats strong sides like Kirkham Grammar and AKS. In the summer, our senior cricket team continues to grow in popularity and has achieved fantastic results. Mixed netball is another big hit – with Sixth Form girls famously taking on Year 10 boys in friendly but competitive matches.
Every Wednesday in Period 5, students take part in Games, which gives everyone a break from lessons and the chance to stay active. We also run regular House sporting competitions in sports like volleyball, table tennis, and swimming.
Clubs
There’s something for everyone when it comes to clubs. Our Book Club, led by Miss Yule, is a popular new addition. Debate Club is a long-standing favourite, helping you sharpen your communication skills and learn how to build strong arguments. Our Knit and Knatter Club has grown rapidly, with students learning a new skill while relaxing and socialising. It’s even raised over £1,000 for Francis House Children’s Hospice through creative charity projects. As well as these subject areas run their own clubs supports students academically and beyond.
Trips and Visits
As a Sixth Form student, you’ll have lots of opportunities to go on trips linked to your subjects – including fieldwork, theatre visits, and zoo trips.
We also offer visits to universities, UCAS fairs, competitions, and subject-specific conferences to help you expand your learning and explore future pathways beyond the classroom.
