University and Apprenticeship Virtual Events
There are two events taking place over the coming weeks that will help students with their post 18 careers and university choices - UK University & Apprenticeship Search Virtual Fair UK University & Apprenticeship Search Virtual Fair is taking place this Wednesday 27th January from 12 - 6pm. Students, parents and teachers can register here and view the full list of exhibitors; over 95 universities, colleges and apprenticeship providers will be attending.There are free activity sheets available to guide students around the event and encourage you to think about your next steps. You can download one designed for your region here. Cards for Kindness
All Sixth Form students will be taking part in Cards for Kindness this year. This is where students send Christmas cards to care homes to help spread a bit of festive cheer and combat loneliness. It's always lovely to receive a card through the post and this often sparks conversation and encourages residents to talk to each other. Research shows this has many health benefits, especially for people living with dementia.

Parachute Jump for St Catherine's Hospice
Congratulations and thank you to our year 13 student Shay O'Neil who has raised around £3,000 for St Catherine's Hospice. Shay is in his second year at Hutton Sixth Form studying Law, Politics and Business Studies. Funding was organised by Shay who completed a parachute jump from Cockerham in late September. Well done on completing your jump and raising so much money for a very worthy cause.

Reading List Scholarship
Albert Blak - who has just finished his 2 years at Hutton Sixth Form studying Law, Psychology and Religious Studies - has won the Reading List Foundation scholarship. This was awarded for to Albert for his resilience and diligent approach to studies. He will receive £250 worth of books from Blackwells which will help him make a great start to his degree at Durham University where he is reading Psychology. Well done Albert and good luck at university!
