Hutton Students Shine in GCSEs

Hutton Church of England Grammar School is proud to be celebrating another outstanding set of GCSE results.

In English, 86% of students achieved grades 9–4, while in Maths 83% reached the same benchmark. STEM subjects continue to be a particular strength, with exceptional outcomes in the Sciences: 95% of students achieved a grade 9–4 in Biology, 94% in Chemistry, 94% in Physics, and 70% in Combined Sciences.

Success was also reflected across a wide range of option subjects. In Physical Education, 88% of students secured a grade 9–4, while in Computing an impressive 30% of grades awarded were grade 8 or 9. In total, 133 top grades (8s and 9s) were awarded across 20 different subjects, showcasing the breadth of talent and commitment among our pupils.

These results are the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and resilience. They reflect not only the determination of our students but also the unwavering support of their families and the commitment of our staff, who have worked tirelessly to inspire, challenge, and guide every learner. This shared effort has created a community where success can truly flourish.

Head Teacher Nicola Moran commented:

“I have been so impressed and humbled by the way in which our students have approached their GCSE studies. They are an absolute credit and very much deserve these impressive results. We have a proud tradition of academic excellence which we continue to maintain and once again we are delighted with the accomplishments of our students in a wide range of subjects. There have been some exceptional results with many achieving top grades and successfully progressing to the next stages of their academic journey, be that at Hutton Sixth Form or via apprenticeship. Students and staff have worked incredibly hard over the course of their studies, and they are deserving of all the success we have seen today.”

Building on the tremendous achievements at GCSE, we look forward to welcoming many of our students back into the Sixth Form, where they will continue to develop their talents, embrace new challenges, and prepare for the next stage of their academic journey. We would also like to wish the very best of luck to all pupils who are now moving on to apprenticeships in a wide range of fields, including groundskeeping, joinery, and many other areas. We are incredibly proud of the diverse paths our students are choosing, and we look forward to seeing the many ways they will succeed in the future.
