Teacher of Business Studies and Economics

Required from 1st September 2018 - 31st August 2019

Fixed Term Contract - Full Time (MPS/UPS)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Business Studies and Economics to join our Church of England 11-18 comprehensive school, judged ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in May 2017 and ‘Outstanding’ by SIAMS in February 2018.
Hutton is a regularly oversubscribed single sex boys school from 11-16 with 730 students currently on roll. The school is co-educational from 16-18 with 161 students currently on roll.

Both subjects are popular options at GCSE and A Level, with the department producing consistently outstanding results, particularly in Economics. We are looking for a colleague who can teach both subjects at Key Stage 4 and 5. This is a fixed term contract until 31st August 2019 in the first instance but there is a possibility of this being extended to a permanent contract depending on timetabling requirements and sixth form recruitment.

Cleaner

We are looking to appoint reliable and hardworking individuals to join the team of cleaners at Hutton Church of England Grammar School.

The post holders will carry out a variety of general cleaning duties and training on use of any equipment will be provided. Previous experience is not essential but would be an advantage. The post holders will work during term time and on INSET days, plus an additional three weeks of work in the summer holidays which will be arranged with the Site Manager.

The post holders will work for 10 hours a week between 3:30pm - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday. The rate of pay is £8.49 an hour.

Successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS as part of our commitment to the safeguarding and well being of children and young people.

The closing date for applications is Monday 2nd July 2018 at 12:00noon.

The Preston Teaching School Alliance School Direct training programme provides graduates with a direct route into teaching. The Preston Alliance, working in partnership with the University of Cumbria, consists of a variety of primary, secondary and special schools with a proven track record of providing outstanding teacher training. You will be trained by outstanding teachers within the alliance and receive specialist input from University of Cumbria staff leading to the award of Postgraduate Certificate of Education with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
