Inclusion Manager

Required from January 2021

Grade 6 (27.5 hours a week - term time only)

We are looking to appoint an Inclusion Manager to help support our students to overcome challenges which affect their attitude to learning, behaviour and attendance.

The post holder will be based in our referral room to supervise and work with students who have been removed from lessons. Their work will focus on supporting students to complete work during their period of exclusion, re-integrate them into the classroom on their return and implement action plans to improve their attitude to learning. The post holder will also work closely with students and their families to support whole school initiatives to promote and sustain good attendance.

We are looking for someone who has a professional and approachable manner, strong administrative and organisational skills and good awareness of how to ensure and promote the safeguarding and well-being of students. The ability to engage and communicate well with a variety of students and their families, sometimes in challenging circumstances, is an essential requirement for the role.

Candidates will have at least grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics at GCSE and will have previous experience of working in a school. Experience of using SIMS would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement.

The successful candidate will be required to work 27.5 hours a week, Monday-Friday during term time only. They will be paid on Grade 6 (SCP 11-19). Previous experience will be taken into account when determining the appropriate point on the scale.

Hutton is an 11-18, Church of England school, rated 'Good' by Ofsted (2017) and 'Outstanding' by SIAMS (2018). We are regularly over-subscribed in Year 7 and admit students from a variety of areas, backgrounds and faiths. This is a new role within our support team which will give the post-holder the opportunity to develop their professional skills and make a significant contribution to school life.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo Enhanced DBS clearance and training as part of our commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of children. The post-holder will also be required to uphold and support the Christian values of the school.
