Required for 1st January 2023

We are seeking to appoint a talented, skilled and passionate Teacher of Food and Nutrition to join a successful department in our Church of England 11-18 comprehensive school. This post would be suitable for experienced or newly qualified teachers. 

Hutton is a regularly oversubscribed single sex boys school from 11-16 with 741 students currently on roll. The Sixth Form is co-educational from 16-18 with 137 students currently on roll. The school was judged ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in May 2022 and ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by SIAMS in February 2018. 

Food and Nutrition is a popular subject at Hutton, and we are looking for a teacher who can use their skills, knowledge and experience to inspire, encourage and motivate our students to achieve their potential. 

Working with our experienced Head of Department, the successful candidate will teach across all key stages, helping to engage and enthuse students and build upon the current popularity of Food and Nutrition. 

The successful candidate will be expected to be an excellent classroom practitioner. Above all, they will be passionate about Food and Nutrition, enthusiastic about working with young people and have a genuine concern for their development as individuals. 

This is a permanent, part time post (0.6FTE) therefore the salary quoted above will be reduced to reflect the part time nature of the role. The point at which the post-holder will be paid is dependent on their previous experience.

Our technology curriculum focuses on Resistant Materials, Graphic Products and Food Preparation and Nutrition, with all three subjects offered as GCSE options. We also offer A-level Product Design. 

The successful candidate will be required to teach across all secondary Key Stages and will be a specialist in either Graphic Products, Product Design or Resistant Materials, with the ability to teach all subjects. 

There may be opportunity to teach at A Level for suitably experienced candidates. This post would be suitable for experienced or newly qualified teachers.
